Purpose:

To establish a program that will honor individuals for Excellence in Competitive Shooting. The program is modeled after the CMP's Excellence in Competition program and similarly imposes minimum standards on all CRPA sanctioned State Championships.

Participation:

Every competitor that participates in a California Rifle & Pistol Association sanctioned State Championship is eligible to earn CRPA Distinguished Certificates and the CRPA Distinguished Plaque Award that are intended to honor and recognize individuals for Excellence in Competitive Shooting.

Common Program Elements:

All CRPA State Championships shall include the following minimum criteria:

1. CRPA Distinguished Certificates shall be awarded based upon aggregate scores in CRPA sanctioned State Championships only.
2. CRPA Distinguished Certificates shall be awarded according to the following schedule:

a. CRPA Distinguished Certificates shall be awarded to the top ten percent (10%) of the competitors who have not yet attained the title of CRPA Distinguished in that discipline. Therefore, competitors who have earned the title of CRPA Distinguished in a particular discipline are not eligible for additional certificates in that discipline.

b. A minimum of ten (10) non CRPA Distinguished competitors are required to participate in a CRPA sanctioned State Championship in order to award one (1) CRPA Distinguished Certificate; fifteen to twenty-four (15-24) for a second certificate; twenty-five to thirty-four (25-34) for a third certificate; etc.

c. Three (3) CRPA Distinguished Certificates earned in one discipline are required to earn the title of CRPA Distinguished in that discipline.

d. There is no limit to the number of CRPA Distinguished Certificates a competitor may earn per year prior to earning the title of CRPA Distinguished in a particular discipline; however, no more than two (2) certificates per year per discipline will apply toward earning the title of CRPA Distinguished in that discipline.
